HUBZone Empowerment Contracting Program

TEMPE, AZ, July, 2002 - EmbeddedPlus Engineering, LLC has just received HUBZone certification from the Small Business Administration (SBA). HUBZones are economically distressed areas as determined by the Small Business Administration using census data and unemployment information. All government agencies and corporations who do business with the government are committed to supporting the SBA HUBZone Empowerment Contracting program. The purpose of the HUBZone Empowerment Contracting program is a partnership between the government and a business in order to:

* Increase employment opportunities in HUBZones
* Stimulate capital investment in HUBZones
* Empower communities through economic leveraging and the multiplier effect that growth in small businesses has on local economies

Most government agencies including the Department of Defense (DOD) have small business liaisons who provide public awareness, support and contracting opportunities to small businesses including HUBZone business through contracting offices.
