Having It All – Integrating Two Best-of-Breed Development Tools
EmbeddedPlus’ DoorKeeper enhances both Telelogic’s DOORS© requirements management solution and the IBM Rational Software Development Platform.
TEMPE, AZ, July 25, 2005 - EmbeddedPlus Engineering today announced the general release of Doorkeeper 1.0, the Eclipse-based integration between industry-leading Telelogic DOORS® and the Rational Software Development Platform. DoorKeeper is designed to improve communication between teams of analysts and designers working on software and systems projects.
DoorKeeper provides access to both UML modeling artifacts and DOORS requirements from the same user interface. In addition, users can view and edit DOORS requirements, create links between DOORS requirements and UML models, and achieve, maintain, and report on traceability between requirements and model elements.
Originally released as a beta in April 2005, DoorKeeper 1.0 has incorporated beta program feedback and been further enhanced with reporting features through integration of the Eclipse-based Business Intelligence Reporting Tools (BIRT).
Other improvements include the ability to edit DOORS requirements, as well as improvements in the user interface which allow customization through preference/policy settings which provides flexibility for use with any process or methodology.
“The linkage between requirements and model artifacts within the same user interface, including the ability to edit requirements, is unlike that of any other integration” says Cory Bialowas, Director of Product Development for EmbeddedPlus. “The ability to generate HTML traceability and impact analysis reports is also of high value to software developers and system engineers, and will greatly improve communication between teams.” he adds.
The new EmbeddedPlus DoorKeeper for the IBM Rational Software Development Platform has been officially validated as Ready for IBM Rational software.
